The Most Common Electric Oven Repairs (And How to Fix Them)

If your electric oven has stopped working, it's important to get it fixed as soon as possible. Not only is it a hassle to have a broken oven, but it can also be dangerous. Here at Appliance Centre, we understand this and that's why our electric oven repair engineers are on hand to fix any problem, so you can get on with your life again. No matter what the brand or model, our engineers are more than capable of fixing the issues then and there, no matter if your electric oven is single or double.

Here are the most common problems that we can help with:

Oven Won't Turn On: If your oven won't turn on, the first thing you should check is the power supply. Make sure that the oven is plugged into an outlet and that the circuit breaker hasn't been tripped. If the power supply seems to be fine, then the problem may be with the oven itself. In this case, it's best to call a professional.

Oven Won’t Heat Up: If your oven won't heat up, the first thing you should check is the thermostat. Make sure that it's set to the correct temperature. If it is, then the problem may be with the heating element. This is a job for a professional.

Oven Cuts Out: If your oven cuts out while you're cooking, it's probably due to a faulty thermostat. The thermostat measures the internal temperature of the oven and turns off the heating element when the desired temperature is reached. If it's not working properly, it may turn off too early or too late, causing your food to be overcooked or undercooked. Again, this is a job for a professional.

Oven Burns Food: If your food is coming out burnt, it's probably because the heating element is too close to the food. The best way to fix this problem is to adjust the racks so that they're further away from the heating element. If you can't do this yourself, then you'll need to call a professional.

Oven's Door Won't Close: If your oven door won't close, there are two possible causes. First, make sure that nothing is blocking the door from closing. Second, check to see if the hinges are loose. If they are, then you'll need to tighten them with a screwdriver. If neither of these solutions works, then you'll need to call a professional.

Oven Is Making Loud Noise: If your oven is making loud noise, chances are something is loose inside of it. First, try opening up the door and shaking everything around inside (be careful not to touch any of the hot surfaces). This may dislodge whatever is making noise and stop it from happening again. If this doesn't work or if you can't access whatever is making noise (for example, if it's in the back of the oven), then you'll need to call a professional.
