A cooker hood’s extraction rate lets you know how much air it can process in an hour – the higher the number, the faster it’ll clear your kitchen. To be fully effective, the appliance should filter the air at least 10 times an hour. Luckily, you can easily find this out by dividing the room volume by the extraction rate. If the final number is above 10, then you can be confident you’ve found the right rate for your home.
